It is a mk2 built in 1970. I bought the car a couple of years ago with the intention of a gradual staged restoration, ie, do some work during the winter months, drive during the summer .The first year was spent just driving it during the summer followed by a winter strip down and rebuild of the front suspension. The latest project is to change the existing standard 2.0ltr engine to a 2.5ltr unit taken from a TR6. The attached photos shows my 3 year old son Matthew helping with the engine removal. I am now in the process of rebuilding the 2.5ltr engine and making it fit into a GT6. Next year's plan is to remove the body and restore the chassis & rear suspension, the final phase will be
the restoration of the body. That's the plan anyway!!!
